Brown Spots

Brown spots are skin discoloration pigmentations produced by too much melanin concentrated in one area. Sun exposure and the harmful UV rays cause the production of melanin on mostly the highest amount of uncovered areas of the skin. The brown spots that appear can be eliminated by non-invasive lasers that specifically target the darker pigmentation and obliterate them. A qualified dermatologist will have FDA approved lasers to ensure the greatest amount of success with every medical treatment.

Red Spots

Red spots on the skin occur frequently as you get older. They are tiny red dots from overgrowths of blood vessels above the surface of the skin. These “red” spots can look dark pink, and if looked at closely are erratic in shape. It is a critical step to see a qualified dermatologist to properly diagnose this condition. Red spots are most of the time completely harmless and a natural part of aging. However, it can also mean a serious onset of a disease. For that reason, only a medical practice should be able to accurately identify this skin condition for advanced treatment, if necessary.

Age Spots

Age spots, also called liver spots, vary in size and appear as darkened patches on the skin. It affects those who have been exposed to the sun for many years. These age spots are typically on the face, forearms, shoulders and back of hand. Unlike freckles, that are clusters of melanin that can fade and resurface during the course of the seasons. Age spots appear when melanin becomes clumped together, or produced in high concentrations over one area. Seek a qualified dermatologist, so the doctor can evaluate the spots. Although age spots are usually harmless, new skin spots can be a serious form of skin cancer. Especially, if it is darkly pigmented, rapidly increasing, or has an irregular border.
